May Motorsports Update for July 18, 2011


Charlie Schultz and Tim Ice grab spots on the podiumChecking in with a race weekend update.  Both of our  cars made had a podium finish with Charlie placing 2nd and Tim @ 3rd.  Brief recap of event below.

MSA Points standing now show #7 of Charlie Schultz in 3rd and #77 Tim Ice in 6th. We have five (5) races remainingon the MSA (Midwest Supermodified Association) racing circuit. We have intentions to run the end of July competing in the Sandusky Nationals Hy-Miler which is an ISMA (International Supermodified Association) sanctioned race and then again Labor Day weekend  in the “wing” race on Friday night of the Oswego CLASSIC, which is a co-sanctioned MSA & ISMA racing event.

Hard to believe we are halfway through our season … where does the time go!

Moe Lilje Masters MSA at Lorain County

Moe Lilje of Vickery, OH led wire to wire in the 30 lap feature event for the Midwest Supermodified Association presented by Town Money Saver at Lorain County Speedway on 07.16.11.

Lilje took off from the drop of the green flag from the outside front row and never looked back in a race that was slowed by just one caution for Jon Henes who spun on lap 23.

Charlie Schultz, Tim Ice, Lou Cicconi, and Trent Stephens rounded out the top five in a field of 15 supers that played to a huge crowd.

Heat wins went to Lilje and Tim Ice.

  • Joe Armbruster suffered a broken axle in the first practice session. He spun off of turn 1 and was done for the night
  • Don Johnson broke a fuel pump in practice and was unable to race.
