DEI C7 Corvette Heat ShroudAVON LAKE, OHIO (MARCH 29, 2016) – DEI’s C7 Corvette Heat Shroud™ is made with a high-temp glass fiber fabric bonded to aluminized material that reflects 90% of radiant heat. The Z06 Corvette is noted for its oil cooler lines placed in close proximity to the catalytic converter capable of reaching 1200+ degrees Fahrenheit.  Radiant heat from the converter can raise the oil temperature to the point of putting the C7 in limp mode and putting other components at risk of failure. This scenario is especially possible at the racetrack or even spirited street driving.

DEI now offers a simple, easy to install solution. The C7 Heat Shroud protects engine oil from overheating without the need to disconnect the oil cooler lines. Developed with a convenient hook and loop closure design, installation takes only minutes.  Simply wrap the heat shroud around the oil cooler line and seal.

Developed with an industry-leading 2mm thick, asphalt-free, pure-butyl noise constraining layer backed with a 4mil aluminum panel stiffening top skin, this vibration damping material can be easily installed in cars, trucks, vans, street rods, commercial vehicles to name a few applications. DEI C7 Corvette Catalytic Converter Heat ShieldAVON LAKE, OHIO (MARCH 9, 2016) – The new C7 Corvette has one design flaw that can easily send it into limp mode with reduced power. Because the engine cooler and oil filter are located in close proximity to the driver side catalytic converter, the engine oil can overheat signaling the ECM to reduce power.

DEI now offers a new thermal control solution with the introduction of the C7 Catalytic Converter Heat Shield. Custom designed to prevent oil temperature from rising in the C7 by blocking heat transfer at the source, this shield is a quick, easy and cost effective solution to prevent a loss of power.

 


 

DEI Heat Screen™ with AdhesiveAVON LAKE, OHIO (FEBRUARY 26, 2016) – DEI’s new Heat Screen is made of Mylar laminated to a glass fiber matting backed with an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive for easy peel and stick application with high cohesion strength.

Designed to protect against excessive direct or radiant heat, it is developed to withstand 1200°F direct heat, or up to 2000°F radiant. To apply, simply cut and trim to cover body panels, floor boards, gas tanks, fairings, and other areas requiring thermal protection. It can also be used as a low profile protection under carpeting to lessen floorboard heat.  Measuring only .060 inches in thickness, this versatile, thin profile reflective material adheres quickly and easily to any surface, even or uneven, painted or unpainted.

 


 

DEI ONYX Series™ Product LineAVON LAKE, OHIO (FEBRUARY 18, 2016) – The new ONYX Series™ products from DEI offer the highest level of heat protection for components that undergo severe duty or extreme heat.  This new line combines two technologically advanced textiles into a dual layer for maximum thermal control.  The outer layer with its rich black finish is made from heat treated glass fiber bonded with molten aluminum then formed into a tight weave for added strength and durability. The inner layer is a high temperature resistant fabric that is 89% Silica.  This all new product line provides heat protection for components up to 1350°F.
