DEI Motorcycle Pipe Wrap KitsAVON LAKE, OHIO (JUNE 18, 2013) – DEI’s all-in-one Motorcycle Pipe Wrap Kit provides a quick and cost effective way to wrap exhaust pipes to improve overall performance and protect against leg burn. Developed to increase thermal retention for any branded motorcycle, ATV/UTV or snowmobile, DEI’s pipe wrap kit increases exhaust flow to a higher velocity to increase horsepower.  The side benefit is that riders are also at less risk of getting burned as it reduces heat transfer up to 50%.

Each kit contains two 2” X 15 ft. rolls of heat insulating pipe wrap that reduces heat as much as 50%, eight 8” and four 14” high grade 304 stainless steel locking ties with 100 lb. tensile strength and a 12 oz. can of HT Silicone Spray; DEI’s high temp coating that provides added protection against abrasions, oil and road grime and prolongs the life of the wrap.

This highly durable wrap is constructed of temperature resistant woven fiberglass that is pre-heat stressed then coated with a vermiculite coating, a proprietary bonding agent that can withstand extreme heat from 1200º F direct or 2000º F radiant...

DEI Cycle’s Pipe Wrap & Locking Ties Kit provides maximum protection from heat generated by hot exhaust pipes. This heat resistant thermal wrap withstands direct continuous heat up to 1200° Fahrenheit and provides added protection against abrasions, hot oil spills and road grime.  The locking ties ensure a long-lasting, secure fit, especially important for vehicles with heavy, continuous use.

The kit includes one roll of 2” x 25’ heat resistant thermal wrap with four 8” stainless steel zip ties in one convenient kit. The wrap is available in three colors: Black (#010119), Tan (#010122), or Titanium (#010123) for a cool carbon fiber look that offers even greater temperature resistance and protection – up to 1800°F.

 

 


 

AVON LAKE, OHIO (APRIL 29, 2013)DEI Reflect-A-Gold Group PhotoToo much radiant heat can kill horsepower and damage sensitive automotive components. Racers have discovered the multiple uses of DEI’s Reflect-A-GOLD, a self-adhesive race film that is used for firewalls, fuel cells, engine covers, intake air tubes, air boxes, engine compartment, bulkheads, suspension, chassis or even the bottom of seats – any place where heat is present.

Clearance, often an issue for modifications, is not a problem with Reflect-A-GOLD. This lightweight, easy to trim film is formable to NEARLY any shape, and provides long term heat protection reflecting 78% of all radiant heat without risk of UV degradation.

Reflect-A-GOLD race film was developed from sophisticated aerospace technology. Made from a metalized polyamide polymer laminate glass cloth, the film is capable of reflecting heat consistently exposed to temperature up to 850°F (454°C). The high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive is protected by a release liner rated up to 325°F (163°C).

 

 


 

AVON LAKE, OHIO (APRIL 11, 2013)DEI Titanium Pipe ShieldExtreme heat can rob power and potentially damage engines, transmissions, hoses, and sensitive electrical components. DEI, a market leader in thermal protection, has introduced a revolutionary advancement in pipe shield technology that greatly outperforms Mylar-backed glass fiber shields.

DEI’s Titanium Pipe Shield combines the high heat tolerance of DEI’s proprietary LR fiber technology with a unique rivet-based clamp shield design to improve heat dissipation and cooling.  Glass fiber shields can begin to fail at 900°F with the Mylar outer material cracking and flaking off.  DEI’s Titanium Pipe Shield provides heat protection up to 1350°F.

LR fiber technology is a two-ply material. The outer layer is made from pulverized and stranded lava rock into a proprietary tightly woven weave for durability and strength. The inside material is made of a special high temperature resistant fabric (89% silica) designed to withstand 350 degrees more heat than glass fiber. This proprietary fiber technology combined with DEI’s unique shield standoff bracket design provides an air gap between the shield and pipe that together provides the maximum potential for cooling and heat dissipation.

 


 

DEI Sponsors 2013 Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine ChallengeAVON LAKE, OHIO (JAN 31, 2012) – The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, a scholarship program for high school shop teams, is growing in leaps and bounds in terms of numbers of sponsors, teams and scholarship dollars. Design Engineering (DEI) is proud to announce their sponsorship of this worthwhile program designed to encourage high school teens to take an interest in the performance aftermarket by providing a series of competitions that exhibit their skill at breaking down and reassembling a small block Chevy according to event rules.

The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, created in 2008, was the brainchild of Jim Bingham, owner of Winner’s Circle Speed and Custom Inc. The engine challenge was developed initially as a special event for Winner’s Circle’s Race and Performance Expo.  With only five teams competing in the inaugural year but with added encouragement from Vic Edlebrock, Winner’s Circle has grown the event to become a nationwide competition that today encompasses over 600 students, seven events including the national championship at the annual PRI show, and 150 sponsors.
