DEI Heat ShroudAVON LAKE, OHIO (MAY 29, 2015) – Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), specialists in heat and sound  control, now offers a new convenient way to protect fuel lines, wires, cables and hoses from excessive direct or radiant heat. DEI’s Heat Shroud™ is made with a high-temp glass fiber fabric bonded to aluminized material that reflects 90% of radiant heat, and direct heat up to 500° F. A hook and loop closure design makes this a simple and easy installation. Now only remove or disconnect one end to install. This time saving convenience makes it possible to get a secure thermal protection barrier without compromising performance or safety; especially important for grassroots or professional motorsports.

 


 

DEI Heat Reflective Motorcycle Fuel Tank CoverAVON LAKE, OHIO (MAY 1, 2015) – DEI’s new Motorcycle Tank Cover™ reflects up to 90% of the sun’s heat away from the fuel tank to help keep fuel temperature stable.  Just as racers are known to use tire warmers to maintain tire temperatures between race sessions, in motorcycle racing it is equally important to maintain stable fuel temps for maximum horsepower.  Hot fuel greatly increases fuel pump stress and can cause vapor lock and most race fuel manufacturers recommend keeping fuel cool for maximum performance; especially important with the new oxygenated fuels.

 


 

DEI Locking Tie ToolAVON LAKE, OHIO (APRIL 29, 2015) – Design Engineering Inc., (DEI), the market leader in performance tuning and acoustic products, is pleased to announce sponsorship of Circle Track’s inaugural 2015 Great American Racing Series (G.A.R.S.). This exciting series of six races is being billed as an affordable, high purse oval track race series for cars that are essentially street stocks. Drivers will compete for a purse of $30,000 per race with the winner receiving $5,000.  The champion will win $10,000 and a one day test session of a full bodied NASCAR style stock car at Daytona International
Speedway.

Developed with a mix of paved and dirt oval tracks in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, the G.A.R.S. series kicks off May 9 at the Salem Speedway in Salem, IN. Two dirt races and four paved races are planned with the final event scheduled October 4 at the Memphis International Raceway. The top 15 finishers of each qualifying race will compete in the feature race which is expected to be 75 laps for tracks greater than ½ mile and 100 laps for ½ mile and under tracks.

Hot Rodders of TomorrowAVON LAKE, OHIO (APRIL 6, 2015) – Design Engineering (DEI) is a proud sponsor of the 2015 Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, a scholarship program for high school shop teams now in its seventh season. This year, DEI’s assigned team from Tulsa Technology Center (Broken Arrow, OK), competed in the Goodguys 5th Spring Lone Star Nationals event March 20th – 22nd at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. One of four teams from Tulsa Technology Center, the DEI team qualified for the Dual National Championship playoff with a time of  32 minutes and 16 seconds (32:16).  The championship will be decided in competition at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas and the PRI show in Indianapolis.
