The Hudson is the first ever race vehicle designed to set land speed records while being controlled and driven by a quadriplegic who has no mobility below the collar bone.

As driver, Michael-Ryan uses a one-of-a-kind pressure sensitive mouthpiece to control the throttle and steering while co-driver, Randy handles gear selection, braking, and has the ability to assume total control of the Hudson in case of emergency.

 


 

Performance enthusiasts know that when it comes to engine air and fuel temperatures, colder is better.  With that in mind we first introduced the first CO2-based fuel and air cryogenic super coolers for drag racing applications in 2003.

The CryO2™ system uses liquid carbon dioxide (CO2), stored at 80 degrees below zero (Fahrenheit), to super cool intake air, fuel, and even a vehicle’s turbo intercooler, resulting in more power and cooler engine combustion chamber temperatures.

The technology as well as the theory behind CryO2 have been around for decades.  Liquified carbon dioxide has been used in commercial cooling applications such as soda fountains and beer taps.  And both street and strip racers have long known that a cold, dense fuel/air mixture carries more oxygen and more fuel to the combustion chamber than a warm mixture.  Performance enthusiasts have seen this scientific fact put into practice for over 35 years in the form of ram air, cowl induction and cool air intake tubes.  A cooler air/fuel mixture also burns better, eliminating hot spots and pre-ignition problems that occur frequently in high-compression engines under load.

 


 

Team SalineOwned and driven by veteran driver Steve Benyo, the CentiMark Mustang holds the C/Production Supercharged World Land Speed Record of 232.27, set in August of 2008 at the fabled Bonneville Salt Flats. The average speed for the fifth mile of the record setting run was 238.44 mph, making this “The World’s Fastest Production Mustang.” In addition to that record, the car presently holds fourteen ECTA top speed records for the Standing Mile. Other records and achievements are within reach, as Team Saline continues to develop and refine the technology necessary to push a production Mustang to speeds that were once considered unattainable.

In addition to winning the Hot Rod Top Speed Challenge, the Land Speed Mustang Race Team doubled up on their accomplishments by breaking the track record for the fastest run by a production-based car in the history of the Maxton Mile! The winning 233.10 mph pass eclipsed the previous record of 231.66 mph, set by an ethanol-powered twin-turbo Dodge Viper V-10 in October
of 2007.
